I'm quite convinced children's rights are not respected during conflicts. Governments are way too blinded by their own greed to care about these innocent minors. Their protection should be one of the first priorities for everybody. Are these rights respected?

Firstly, the international community has identified six grave violations against children in times of war: recruitment, abduction, killing and maiming, sexual violence, attacks on schools and hospitals and denial of humanitarian access. I strongly believe this needs to stop. One of the solutions to put an end to this situation is encouraging the communities to sign declarations and laws in order to improve these kids lives.

But this is simply not enough. Sending some money to NGOs helps these children, however we should buoy up people with influence and power in order to make a bigger difference, persuade the leaders of the countries in conflict to protect or at least avoid damaging the infants.

Over all, even though individual effort is really important to change some situations, I think this matter requires global action. Our society needs to change in significant ways if we want to defense the life and wellbeing of children. Political action is more important than ever, and we can no longer afford to ignore these issues.
