Tank Man- Yaqi
Nowadays, in the 21st century, there are also wars in the world due to conflicts between countries, rebellions and protests of students and workers, etc. The war is not always bad, out of destruction comes a new beginning. The country, will gain wealth or freedom, increase in power and advance in technology. But it’s true that a lot of innocent people die and lots f bad things happen.
In this picture in the foreground, I can see a man who is in front of the tank which is coming in the opposite direction and behind this tank there are two more. This man is wearing a white shirt and black trousers. He is also carrying two bags, one in each hand. He may have come from shopping. This fact happens in the middle of a wide highway with 5-6 lanes. In two lanes up way, that is to say, in the background of the image, there is a bus driving in the same direction as the tanks. There must have been a conflict, but the use of tanks in this situation could be to scare the people. In a video it says that the man was walking in the street and when he saw the tanks and a lot of people rebelling in the distance he went in front the tanks wanting to stop them. It happened the 5th June 1989 in Beijing, China.
And yet, I’m completely sure that he was a hero because no one would ever have done what he did. He was brave, and I think that he is an example we must follow.
